Cape Town — South African actress Kelly Khumalo and her sister Zandie Khumalo-Gumede have not signed a R22m deal with Netflix, a spokesperson revealed.
The deal was allegedly for Kelly and Zandie to be part of their own docuseries that followed the events of the day Kelly’s ex-boyfriend, Senzo Meyiwa, was killed. However, a Netflix spokesperson refuted those rumours, TimesLIVE reported.
“There is no truth to these ‘reports’, there is no deal between the Khumalos and Netflix,” said a Netflix spokesperson.
Zandie also took to social media and denied the rumours of the new show, saying she found out about the news of her supposed documentary through social media rumours.
“Its always funny AF when I find out things about myself that I didn’t even know about myself. Anyway dont let them defocus u bafuna silahlekelwe ifocus, like me just keep your eye on the prize and the only thing we are focusing on right now is the release of my new single,” she said.

Netflix production company Ten Ten Films last year aired a docu-series on the murder before the trial got underway. The five-part true crime documentary series featured interviews with Meyiwa’s family, his friends, former Hawks head Shadrack Sibiya and advocate Gerrie Nel.
Kelly and Zandile did not participate in the docu-series but snippets of their interviews with other media outlets were used.
