Cape Town – South African rapper Nasty C has paid tribute to AKA, referring to the slain musician as “a big brother”.
The rapper was performing at the weekend’s Galaxy K-Day event, which was attended by more than 8 000 patrons.
Despite the rain and gloomy weather, patrons came out in their numbers to watch performances by artists such as Nasty C, Jimmy Nevis, YoungstaCPT and Mi Casa.
The crowd cheered as Nasty C took to stage to perform his hit songs. But it was his performance of Lemons, which he performs with AKA on the recently released Mass Country album, that had the masses emotional, according to IOL.
After the song, Nasty C said, “That song right there, for me is tribute to someone I admire as a big brother; I’m sure we can all agree and I speak on behalf of everyone.” All fans in attendance responded by chanting “AKA” as the set ended.
A fan captured a video and posted it to Twitter, with the caption: “Dope tribute by Young Nasty to Mega.”
