Cape Town — South African rapper Nasty C is among a host of South Africa’s top music stars to be nominated for an award at the African Entertainment Awards USA.
The awards show aims to celebrate African entertainment and achievements globally and is set to take place in the USA on 11 November, and this year’s ceremony will celebrate achievements in some 50 categories, across music, film, sport and fashion among others, IOL reported.
South Africa will be well represented at this year’s awards show. Nasty C is the headline nominee as he and K.O were nominated for Best Hip Hop/Rap Artist. Tyler ICU and Makhadzi were nominated for Best Male Artist and Best Female Artist respectively, while Black Coffee, Uncle Waffles and DJ Zinhle for Best DJ.
Other nominees away from music include Loyiso Gola for Best Comedian, Bonang Matheba for Best Dressed, Nadia Jaftha for Digital Content Creator of the Year, and South Africa for Best Female Football Team, among many other nominees.

TimesLIVE reported that Nasty C recently released his album I Love It Here and is touring with fellow rapper Cassper Nyovest on their African Throne tour.
The Eazy hitmaker opened up about how fame made him more protective of his space.
“The more you make it and the longer you stay in the limelight, the more you have to protect yourself and your energy. You tend to withdraw from that. There’s less human interaction. A lot of it is transactional and promotional, so you limit your access and you become different.
