Cape Town – Controversial pop culture commentator Musa Khawula has caused major controversy for using an expletive referring to deceased rapper AKA’s daughter, Kairo Forbes.
A video is circulating on Twitter of Khawula talking about AKA’s death and the artist’s album Mass Country.
“You know that Mass Country by AKA? Mmmm didn’t he die? That was sad. And brutal. And all that,” he said.
He also alleged that AKA was responsible for pushing his fiance Anele “Nellie” Tembe from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town in April 2021. Tembe died, and no one was ever charged in the incident.

Khawula added that AKA’s new album, released days after AKA’s death in February and already a best seller, would have taken two years to achieve gold status if the rapper had still been alive.
“Mass Country is certified gold, so I’m sure everyone is celebrating. Obviously, AKA is not here to see the achievements… I’m thinking, if AKA had been alive, it was gonna take him two years for this Mass Country to reach gold. But now, y’all have been listening. Y’all have been supporting the dead…” he said.
Then Khawula dropped the shocker: “I’m hoping [all the proceeds] are gonna go to…what’s that f**ken child? That DJ Zinhle child? Kairo.”
Tweeps responded to Khawula’s video with anger, saying he was not only disrespectful to AKA, but to Kairo and DJ Zinhle.

You know people can say whatever about Kiernan it’s nornam but leave Kairo alone. Leave Kairo alone. Musa crossed the line there. https://t.co/kPfaOseClh
