Cape Town – Media personality, Mohale Motaung, has opened up about life after his separation from his famous husband, choreographer and Idols SA judge Somizi Mhlongo.
Their union ended after Mohale alleged that Somizi was abusive towards him – claims that Somizi subsequently refuted vehemently on social media.
Mohale told TshisaLive, recently, that he had to remember who he was prior to their highly publicised relationship.
“I just said to myself, I’m not going to beat myself up for something that has happened. At the end of the day, I’m an adult. I can’t sit around and want to sob the whole time. I had to gather myself, and say if I was not in that relationship before, what would I be doing?” the report quoted him saying.

Mohale received flak from Somizi’s fans on social media who accused him of trying to tarnish Somizi’s public image. Their controversial break-up involving Gender Based Violence (GBV) allegations led to Somizi being suspended from Idols SA and from doing his usual radio segment Ask A Man on Metro FM on The Bridge show with fellow radio DJ Dineo Ranaka.
“I had to remember that everything that has happened is not because of anyone’s doing. It’s mostly because things happen and its life,” said Mohale.
Last year, he joined online radio station opulence radio as a host.
The station drives opulent lifestyle to its listeners through its engaging content of entertainment fused with education.
The divorce of the pair remains a closely guarded secret as it’s not known yet to the public if it has been eventually finalised or not.
