Cape Town — The official Miss SA pageant will return to South African TV as the show is set to broadcast on SABC 3 for the first time since 1999.
The pageant is set to take place on Sunday, 13 August at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, and not only will the pageant be on the public broadcaster, but it will also show a new five-part series called Crown Chasers which will give viewers a look into the process of becoming Miss SA through a series of challenges, tasks, and mentorship sessions, The Citizen said.
Lala Tuku, SABC’s head of local production, said they were excited to have the show back on their channel.
“The SABC remains the home of events of national importance, and our logline for S3 is ‘Open Up’. To the Miss South Africa finalists, open up new worlds, transcend borders, and be the best ambassadors you can be for South Africa.”
