Cape Town – Current Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri is working hard to use her platform to benefit the poor. Recently, her advocacy work has included a new campaign to end period poverty with her Ed-Unite Campaign.
Nokeri returned to her home province of Limpopo to launch the new partnership at Mashooro Secondary School at Ga Mokgwathi Village. The programme is called @caring4girls.
“Period poverty is another barrier to education for girls in indigent communities, by tackling this, we are helping to bridge that gap,” Nokeri said.

According to The Citizen, the campaign intends to raise funds for infrastructure and facilities in schools as well as provide scholarships, bursaries and medical and menstrual hygiene support to learners.
Nokeri provides information between big corporations, foundations and schools in need.
Forever New and the Imbumba Foundation have also partnered with Nokeri, with Forever New pledging R600 000 to supply sanitary pads to end period poverty.
She also said that: “It was a no-brainer for me to return to Limpopo and help learners from my home province thanks to the initial monies raised by my Ed-Unite campaign. We will be visiting more schools in other provinces in the new year”.
