Cape Town – Miss Alabama for America Strong, Zoe Sozo Bethel, reportedly died on Friday, February 18, from her head injuries after she allegedly fell out of a third-floor window of a building.
A statement issued on behalf of her family on Instagram confirmed the time of her passing and alluded to the many accolades that she achieved over her short span of life.
She was only 27-years-old.
“On Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 5:30AM Eastern time in Miami, Florida, our beloved Zoe Sozo Bethel passed from this life into the next as a result of succumbing to her injuries,” read the statement.
“Zoe touched the hearts of many people and was actively affiliated with several organizations and groups,” the family said.

The family asked for the public’s prayers and requested privacy as they dealt with the untimely passing of their daughter.
“The family members sincerely appreciate all of the kind words and expressions of love for Zoe,” the family said.
They also requested financial assistance to cover her medical expenses and to plan her burial.
“This support will help cover medical and burial arrangement costs for Zoe. Additional information about burial arrangements and other matters will be provided at a later date by the family,” said the statement.

According to Channel24, one week before her untimely death, her family had taken to social media to share that Zoe had “sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem” and was in a coma following an “undisclosed accident”.
“Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired, she may not have much time left,” they said at the time, according to the report.
