Cape Town – South Africa’s DJ twins, Banele and Bandile Mbere, better known as Major League DJz, took to Instagram recently to announce to their multitude of followers that they have just scooped a new record deal contract with international music record label, Atlantic Records, in London in the United Kingdom.
The pair shared a video clip that sees them surrounded by the record label’s executives and staff, as they scribble ink on paper to make things official amidst applause from the cheery crowd in the room.
“We can finally announce that your South African boys have finally signed a major global record deal with Atlantic Records,” they wrote.

“It’s been a crazy journey for your boys and we would love to thank every single person that has been behind us through it all. “Piano to the world” was just a phrase that we believed in so much so that it changed our lives. Thank you to our amazing team, thank you for believing in us and allowing us to lead you,” said the duo.
The Major League DJs said that this is only the beginning for them, as they are now going to put their best foot forward in producing quality work for their loyal supporters.
“This is just the beginning, there’s still so much work to do, the door stays open for kids coming after us. Black child your dreams are valid. Let’s dream as a nation because wow the doors are open wide and the world is ready to embrace Africa,” they said.
They also dedicated the new contract deal to the late rapper Rikhado “Ricky Rick” Makhado, as they said that he played a major role in negotiating on their behalf in order for them to clinch the music record deal.
“Lastly we would love to thank our late brother Ricky Rick for being a part of this journey, being a part of the negotiations and always guiding us. We really wish you were here to watch it all unfold. Let’s do it like you would say ‘Let’s operate boys’,” said the twins.
