Cape Town – South African media personality, Mark Pilgrim, has revealed in a social media post that recovery is under way after he suffered from a collapsed lung.
The radio presenter was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
In his latest post, Pilgrim gave an update on his circumstance.
“Not too different from siphoning petrol from a car… except the doctor’s lips aren’t sucking the pipe,” he said.
“We figured out why I’ve been man-down for over 2 weeks… At hospital allowing a collapsed lung to start working again by draining 2 liters of fluid from the chest cavity ?. The other 2L will come out in a week or two,” Pilgrim added.
“Looking forward to breathing and talking normally again … and being on the radio,” he said.
Followers expressed how much they miss hearing the presenter on air.
“The days just not the same without you on air. Get better soon, you can do this,” one of his fans commented.

The comment section of his Instagram post was filled with well-wishes, prayers, and other users revealing how he has inspired them.
“Thank you for sharing your journey / makes me believe that I need to finish my chemo and have that needle that is soooooo painful, but will stop the white blood cells dropping too low that I end up in hospital on an antibiotic drip!!!! Have taken so much from your posts and truly appreciate your honesty and positivity,” one commenter said.
“If my posts encourage just one person to find the inner strength to face another day, it’s all worthwhile,” Pilgrim said in a previous post.
