Cape Town – South African actress Thuso Mbedu celebrated her 32nd birthday in Croatia, where she looked radiant in a bright yellow dress.
She shared pictures and a video on social media, including a clip of a woman complimenting her as she walked around.
One of the snapshots showcased the scenic pebbled beaches of Croatia.
Thuso also shared a heartfelt caption about her sister, who experienced a transformation after Thuso was born.
”My sister was born in April 1989. She was a quiet and sad child. They’d always find her sitting, staring wistfully through the window. She didn’t speak or smile or dance. Then on July 8 1991 I was born. Her greatest gift.
“I’m told my sister broke out into song and dance and hasn’t stopped singing. I’m a true light to her which is why I wore yellow today. My sister (and my family) will deny it but it’s because this is only the first draft, don’t listen to them. It sounds better in my head,” she captioned the post.

Reflecting on her journey, she mentioned how The Woman King cast surprised her on her birthday in 2022.
Thuso recently became a brand ambassador and spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, joining her role as one of the faces of Dior’s new campaign.
Besides her acting career, she is actively involved in empowering women and girls through educational resources with the non-profit organisation Save The Children.
