Cape Town – Controversial South African poet and singer Ntsiki Mazwai has defended media personality Anele Mdoda after tweeps dragged her, following the arrival of American singer and actress Kelly Rowland in the country.
Kelly took to Twitter to announce that she was in South Africa on Wednesday. Soon after, Twitter was set abuzz, as her name along with that of Anele’s trended.
Many tweeps dragged Anele for calling Kelly ugly almost two years ago, according to The South African.
Although Anele ignored the trolls, Ntsiki was not having it. She came out gun blazing.
“Why do you guys grovel for Kelly Rowland??? Does she give you pocket money?,” Ntsiki wrote in a tweet.

In another tweet, Ntsiki wrote: “You guys bullied this girl so much she even lost weight to try keep up”.

Tweeps were perplexed as to why Ntsiki would defend Anele, who would most likely not defend her.
Ntsiki responded by saying that she had always stood up for anyone being bullied, regardless of whether they’ll do the same for her or not.
“I always stand up for anyone being bullied… This is not the first time I stand up for someone who would not stand up for me. Also I stand up based on integrity and what I believe in and not group project vibes,” wrote Ntsiki in a tweet.
