Cape Town – Goodluck singer Juliet “Jules” Harding and band member Ben Peters, have announced the arrival of their bundle of joy.
Taking to Instagram, Jules shared multiple pictures from the delivery room, whilst also sharing her birthing story in the comment section.
“She is here 🤍 Skylar Scout Lulu Peters was born on her due date – 20 June 2024 at 11.05pm at 4.53kgs. Her birth story was not the one we had planned or expected but it was the one that she needed… Skylar was trying to tell us something the whole week. Thank goodness we were listening.🙏”, she wrote.
She added: “Those of you who have followed our birth journey know how much I had prepared for a home birth. The concept of a calm, fear-free and empowered birth with a midwifery lead team was (and still is) the perfect idea of how I imagined giving birth. The more eyebrows I raised leading up to her birth the more determined I became to show everyone how safe and beautiful home birth is… because it truly is. Then sometimes things don’t go according to plan. And our story, had it not been for the experience and wisdom of our midwife and birth team, could have been very, very different…
“Labour began on Thursday afternoon, and we found level 2 meconium when my waters broke. Our midwife came round to our home and after an examination and a consult with our Gynae over the phone, the decision was made to transfer to hospital. We had been monitoring a buildup of signs in the days before labour… from high glucose in my urine and blood, to the meconium and excess fluid around the baby.
“So when small contractions started, and I mean small! Our little one was already getting very stressed and dropping her heart rate. [The story continues in comments] ✨”

In early April, Jules broke the news of her expectancy on Instagram, honouring husband Ben with a heartfelt birthday tribute as well.
The now mother-of-one marked Ben’s special day, with an ultrasound photo posted to her timeline.
“Happy birthday to the love of my life… it’s just been you and me until now my Benny and so much change is coming up for us this year. There is no-one i would rather navigate these waters with in the world. 🤍 I am so grateful that our little girl is going to have you as her mentor and guide, she doesn’t know it yet but she has won dad the lottery! Thank you for everything… i love you! Xx” read the caption.
