Cape Town – South African rapper Refiloe Maele Phoolo, better known as Cassper Nyovest, has responded to claims that he doesn’t own his new McLaren.
A McLaren ranges from R3 million to R6.8 million.
Last week, the “Phuma Kimi” hitmaker celebrated the launch of his alcohol brand, Billiato as well as his 31st birthday.
He gifted himself a Frank Muller timepiece and a McLaren car.
However, it was not long until naysayers trolled him for allegedly flaunting a sponsored McLaren and making it as if he bought it.

Leading the troll was podcaster Nota Baloyi who claimed in his latest podcast that Cassper didn’t buy the car, rather he was only promoting it for a car company.
“At the end of the day Cassper is a type of a guy who rents a Rolls Royce for a month just to show off with it you know what I mean,” in part, said Nota in a video.
Nota calling Cassper Nyovest out: ?
? He can’t afford McLaren.
? Dayton Motors has influencers like Oscar Pistorius, Black Coffee & Euphonik amongst their influencers
? He is an unpaid luxury car influencer#BilliatoPrivateLaunch •Kelvin Momo • Thembi • Mseleku • Somizi pic.twitter.com/Y2nRnyjbd6— YaseB ?? (@ThisIsColbert) December 17, 2021
Cassper was compelled to attend to these claims.
In a series of tweets, he defended himself saying that the rumours are baseless and that he bought the McLaren car and he owns it.
“Rumor also has it that I’m broke, I’m falling off, i don’t own my house which I keep breaking and extending. I keep reading shit I didn’t even know about myself. If anything, this just shows me how unheard of and unbelievable what I’m doing is. They think it’s impossible! Crazy,” Cassper wrote in one tweet.

Nobody shem. But if it makes them feel better then it’s fine, they can run with the narrative. It’s so funny to see though. Even if I did explain, they would come with more stories so gwa tshwana. Lemme go drive my Mini Cooper. https://t.co/XMdVWkYAFJ
