Cape Town — Alongside the Springboks match against the Wallabies this past weekend, South African-born singer Bradley Kalo delivered a performance so emotionally charged that it left South African expats in Australia yearning for home.
In what could only be described as a tough clash at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane last weekend, the Boks had gathered a win against the Wallabies, in the first clash of the Rugby Championship with 33-7.
Many have since attributed the victory to Bradley Kalo, a Cape Town-born musician now residing in Queensland Australia. He delivered a stirring rendition of our national anthem at the victory match.

In other clips posted to social media, Bradley could be seen proudly belting out our anthem at the Brisbane stadium, with many expats crowded around him, singing in unison.

Though many would assume this to be Bradley’s first time singing the anthem on behalf of the nation, true rugby enthusiasts know this isn’t his first rodeo.
Last year, the South African singer also performed the anthem at a Rugby Championship match between the Springboks and the Wallabies.
After said performance Bradley took to his Instagram to share his experience of having sung the national anthem and how honoured he felt to be doing such.
“WOW what a weekend! It was once again a great privilege and honour to sing my countries National Anthem 🇿🇦for the @bokrugby and millions around the world! The atmosphere was electric and big shout out to all the South Africans who sang so loud I couldn’t hear myself at times ❤️I’m blessed indeed for the opportunity! The victory made it so much more sweeter. All the best in Argentinia boys! GO BOKKE! 🇿🇦❤️” wrote the patriotic singer.
