Cape Town – Radio host Mark Pilgrim’s two-month stay in hospital has come to an end after he was discharged on Thursday.
Pilgrim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer earlier this year.
He took to Instagram to announce that he was going home in a heartwarming post where he could be seen sitting in a wheelchair and being wheeled out of the hospital by his partner, Adrienne Watkins.
“After 64 days, 7 procedures and losing almost 15kg, today… I go home! Still have a tube coming out my side and will have a home nurse looking after me as I slowly build my strength, but nothing beats the healing power of being home with loved ones, doggies, the fresh air and garden,” he said in the caption.

Having spent over 60 days in hospital, including having to have a makeshift Christmas lunch in the ward, Pilgrim has endured a very challenging year in 2022 and can look forward to starting 2023 in the comfort of his own home.
