Cape Town – South African rapper AKA has released a new song, Tears Run Dry, which he says is dedicated to his late fiancée Anele “Nellie” Tembe.
AKA announced his latest offering on social media on Monday, October 11, the day that marks Anele’s birthday.
“Happy Birthday Baby,” he captioned the post that has the song’s cover.

Last month the rapper revealed during an interview with DJ Ankletap on his YFM radio show, Y Mornings, that he intended to release an album about his experiences since the death of Anele.
Anele died earlier this year after she fell from the tenth floor of a hotel in Cape Town.
“I saw you in my dreams, maybe that’s why I am too terrified to go to sleep. Not because I don’t want to let go of you again, but because when I wake up reality is deep,” AKA sings in the song.
He continues: “Go Nellie, its [sic] your birthday. We are going to party like its [sic] your birthday…in heaven with your mommy.”
Here is what AKA’s fans are saying on social media in reaction to the new song:

#TearsRunDry is not a song up for debate, it’s pure, raw emotion dedicated to Anele?
