Cape Town – South African singer Lira is living her life to the full after suffering a stroke in April 2022.
She recently took to social media to share celebrations for her 44th birthday .
Lira posted two videos to her Instagram. The first showcases her reflections on her time spent with friends and family during her 43rd.
“This is my last day as a 43 year old,” she posted.
“I’m reflecting on the amount of fun I had in the last year ☺️. I spent it with loved ones , my family and my friends. There were no shows – I couldn’t work – so I was left with living life – happily. Thank you to all of you who prayed for me and kept me in your thoughts – I’m truly blessed – I love you all!”
Her second post showed pictures from a photoshoot held to mark her birthday.
“Thank for all the birthday wishes ?????❤️. I had a magical day! I was showered with so much love – thank you ???. Life is too short – we need to celebrate everyday we are given ???,” she said.

The singer suffered a stroke in April 2022 in Germany. According to The South African, the stroke affected her ability to write and to talk, although she maintained that she was still able to sing. Lira was able to make an appearance at the launch of Tamara Day’s Disco Therapy single, a few months after her health struggles became public.
