Cape Town – Actress and activist Mona Monyane recently took to Instagram to drop pearls of wisdom to her multitude of followers about the process of finding inner healing.
Mona often documents her healing on Instagram and has founded Power of Wellness (POW) – a non-profit organisation for people battling hardships.
“Let’s get real for a second,” she wrote.
Mona said that people needed to start working on their mental and spiritual health in order for them to heal spiritually and holistically.

“Healing is painful. Much like life’s challenges, it is truly rough. Because at some point you have to stop waiting for someone to come save you. You have to get intentional about wanting your life to change,” she said.
She said taking toxic substances was not nutritional and people needed to start investing in prayer and keeping a diary to chronicle their healing process.
“Stop drinking alcohol, eat better, get exercise or become more physical. Actually, get up at night and pray, keep a journal, leave that toxic space, let go of control and judgement,” said Mona.

According to Kaya959, after she separated from her husband, fellow actor Skhulu Skenjana, losing her seven-day-old baby and her house catching fire, losing her baby’s ashes in the process, Mona has accepted her ancestral spiritual journey and has turned on a new page.
“My journey of healing started with me answering my ancestral calling. I’ve learnt so much about African spirituality and it has drawn me closer to God. I can’t be in this industry (entertainment) without being my true authentic self, and my true authentic self is a woman of God, it’s a woman who speaks the word of life,” TimesLive quoted as saying.
