Cape Town – South African television presenter and actor Lawrence Maleka has been announced as the presenter of the new season of Big Brother Mzansi.
The show took to social media to announce the news.

“Big Brother Mzansi is back, and we have a brand-new presenter for our brand-new season! Lawrence Maleka will be our representative for the coming #BBMzansi season. Click the card to read all about it!,” Big brother Mzansi wrote in a Tweet.

Maleka is not new to TV presenting and hosting arena, having previously hosted Africa Magic Entertainment’s “StarGist” and Mzansi Magic’s “Clash of the Choirs”.
He is also known for his character, Zolani, on 1Magic’s The River.
“I’m excited to be part of this instalment of Big Brother Mzansi. The franchise has become a massive phenomenon in African as well as South African pop culture, and I’m happy to join in the fun as a presenter. The fan base is huge and massively loyal – it’s an honour to be part of such a fantastic production,” Channe24 quoted Maleka as saying.

The new season is scheduled to premiere on January 23, 2022, on DStv Channel 161 Mzansi Magic and the 24-hour broadcast channel 198.
In October, Dstv confirmed the return of the reality show, saying it’s going to be “action-packed”.
“Big Brother is always watching!! The much-loved Big Brother Mzansi will be making its highly anticipated return to your screens soon. Are you ready? It promises to be as exciting, entertaining and action-packed as ever. #BBMzansi,” wrote Dstv on Twitter.
During the reality show, contestants are monitored 24 hours by Big Brother and the viewers.
