Cape Town – South African media personality and TV presenter Katlego Maboe has been selected as the new host for SABC 1’s brand-new show Deal or No Deal SA.
According to IOL, Lala Tuku, the head of SABC’s local content, revealed they thought Maboe was seen as the “perfect choice” to be the show’s new host, saying he had the right requisite, generosity, spirit and finesse to be the host of the show.
“We are delighted to have the ever-popular and vivacious Katlego Maboe as the host of South Africa’s Deal or No Deal. Maboe is a multi-award-winning television personality and highly respected presenter. His charisma and compassion will ensure that each episode of Deal or No Deal is an emotive, highly-charged journey for both contestants and viewers,” said Tuku.
Maboe posted a TikTok video on his Instagram to celebrate the news, dancing with some people backstage.

Deal or No Deal SA will be broadcast on SABC 1, weekdays, in the prime-time slot of 7.30pm. It will be repeated on SABC 3 at 5.30pm. The show will debut on SABC 1 on March 6.
Katlego Maboe returned to the spotlight in March 2022 with a new podcast, before making a triumphant return to the Expresso Show in August last year.
