Cape Town – Radio personality, Nicole Da Silva is leaving 5FM after over a decade of dedicating herself to the urban radio station.
She took to social media to announce her departure from her loyal listeners who have been engaging with her all throughout the years.
“It’s time,” she wrote.
“Next weekend I’ll be presenting my final shows at 5FM. It’s been an incredible journey since 2010 doing my first show midnight – 3am and with the changes over the years, finally landing weekend breakfast,” she tweeted.

Nicole is the current host of the station’s weekend afternoon show The Weekend Playdate.
“5 was the only station I ever dreamed of being a part of and I’ve had that privilege for over a decade, but it’s time to move on,” she wrote.
Many of her listeners were saddened by the departure and sent her well wishes going into the future, including some of her fellow radio personalities who felt touched by her departure from the airwaves.
“Love you Nicole, blessings ahead, only up from here,” said radio personality Andy Maqondwana who recently joined Kaya 959 FM.
“Thanks for always being a sweetheart. It’s been years but u made a positive impact on us all in some way,” said media personality Kuli Roberts.
The start of April is known to be radio season in South Africa, when radio stations all across reshuffle their on- air personalities to strategise gaining more listenership for their radio.
Last year, Nicole married her long-time partner of five years, Chris.
