Cape Town – South African actress Thando Thabethe has described her relationship with former partner Lunga Shabalala as a messy affair and said that he became obsessive.
The 947 presenter made headlines after she applied for an urgent protection order against the actor, whom she accuses of “following” and “harassing” her, The South African reported.
Thabethe alleged that Shabalala had been acting strangely, following her and breaking into her house. The urgency of obtaining the order came because she received threats over her TV show.
“I fear for my safety as I do not know how he will react once the show is aired. He is constantly stalking and harassing me, and I don’t want the situation to escalate”.
According to City Press, Thabethe said her break-up with Shabalala was “messy and dangerous”.

Thabethe outlined some of the incidents, alleging that Shabalala tailgated her into her complex when he could not reach her; called friends to find her; came to her workplace and followed her to her car; and became upset at not knowing whom she was travelling to Durban with.
Shabalala has hit back at the allegations. According to The South African, a screenshot of Shabalala’s Instagram story showed a cryptic quote that he shared saying: “The truth never gets old”.
