Cape Town – Following the surprise announcement that MoFlava would be leaving his post as the MetroFM Breakfast show host, a source at the radio station revealed that he had failed to give his notice after feeling betrayed by a “demotion”.
The DJ resigned on March 7 and shared the announcement with MetroFM listeners that it was his last show. He was initially supposed to leave the station on Friday, March 10, saying he was too stressed out because of emotional distress.
Zimoja reported that a source close to the situation said Mo told the management that he was too drained to continue with the show because of the alleged toxic environment at the station.
“He is too hurt to carry on. He feels betrayed. He told the management that ideally, he would have loved to finish on Friday but he can’t,” the source was quoted as saying.
Another source at the station said the broadcaster refused the offer to host the Top 40 Chart show on Saturdays as it was a demotion for him.
“It was more of a demotion than anything, he knew that management was trying to frustrate him out of the system. Why would you take such a talented broadcaster and put him on a weekend?,” the source said.
MoFlava is set to have a farewell party at Matte Black restaurant in Bryanston on Thursday, March 9.
