Cape Town — South African rapper Nadia Nakai has issued an apology to fellow musician DJ Milkshake following the comments she made about hip-hop DJs.
Nadia had taken to her Instagram stories where she called out many of SA’s hip-hip DJs for constantly playing the same old songs. She singled out DJ Milkshake and excluded Ayanda MVP, TimesLIVE reported.
“I’m so sick of you hip hop deejays. I’m actually dropping hip hop joints and you don’t play the sh**. Used To Fight D about it too. @djmilkshake I’m talking about you!!” she said.
“Mxm how many times you gonna play all I do is win. Mxm! @ayandamvp this doesn’t include you because you really do hold up new hip hop drops.” she added.
She later took to X and issued an apology to DJ Milkshake and explicitly explained why she singled him out specifically. She she still feels aggrieved that no music gets played at clubs and that she will not apologise for her message.
I’m sorry for calling out Milkshake. The reason I did that was because I was with him while he was playing at Members when I asked him, like I always do. If I hurt you, I’m sorry bro! Buuuut it still doesn’t change the fact that I’m not hearing new hiphop drops… and I’m not
