Cape Town – South African actress Esta TerBlanche, famous for her roles in “Egoli” and “All My Children”, was reportedly found dead in her Los Angeles home.
Born in Rustenburg in 1973, TerBlanche moved to the US in 1996 for her acting career.
According to reports, her body was discovered after some workers couldn’t reach her for several days. They contacted law enforcement and as a result, the police discovered her body in her Los Angeles home.
While her agent said that she died of natural causes, an autopsy is planned to determine the exact cause of death, according to Maroela Media.
TerBlanche had recently visited family in South Africa.
A report by The South African said that after winning Miss Teen South Africa in 1991, TerBlanche gained fame as Bienkie in the popular soapie Egoli on M-Net from 1992 to 1995. She starred alongside renowned South African actresses such as Brümilda van Rensburg and Sandra Prinsloo.
TerBlanche also appeared in the film Three Thieves and a Wedding and featured in episodes of TV series like Spin City and The Syndicate, the report said.
Her sudden death has shocked many.
