Cape Town – The wife of Elton Jantjies, Iva Ristic hit back at an Instagram troll who said that she “doesn’t look too sad about her marriage”, saying that she usually doesn’t “take pictures while crying”.
Earlier in November, Jantjies, in an exclusive interview with News24, admitted that he had an affair with Springbok dietician, Zeenat Simjee after both parties initially denied it. Jantjies said that the affair had been going on for several months.
Simjee once more denied that it was her who had the affair with the South African fly-half, claiming that it was a person who looked similar to her.
But Jantjies hit back and maintained that it was Zeenat with whom he had an affair, telling Rapport that it was not a case of “mistaken identity”, as Simjee claimed.
“As I confirmed to my wife, I did have a relationship with Zee. There is only one Zee,” Jantjies was reported as saying.
As the saga drags on, Iva finds herself in the firing line.
One Instagram troll took to the comments section to tell Iva, “You don’t look to sad about your marriage.”

Iva responded by saying: “I usually don’t take pictures while crying.”
“You can’t judge by a photo if someone is happy or sad. I don’t use my platform to express my daily emotions. If you are following my profile to see me crying I think you are at the wrong place,” Iva added.
After the troll called Iva a “semi-celeb” and claimed that she ‘lives for the attention good or bad’, Iva said she looks to inspire people who are in the same position as her.
“i am FAR from any kind of a celebrity.. I’m a mother of 3 that happened to travel more than some other people ( not always by my choice ) so I try my best to embrace that and make beautiful memories with my babies and my closest ones… what I am posting now is what I used to post for the last 10 years…I wouldn’t just change my content or stop posting because of personal issues. I try to inspire and give strength to many other people that are pretty much going through what I am going.. Doing observations on ANY social media platform is such a waste of time and is beyond superficial,” Iva said.
