Cape Town – Multiple award-winning rapper Kanye West’s performance at the 64th Grammy Awards Ceremony to be held on April 3 has been cancelled due to “concerning online behaviour”.
According to Eonline, the embattled rapper was supposed to perform at the prestigious music event but his performance was unplugged following his recent online posts.
Kanye was recently embroiled in an online spat with South African comedian Trevor Noah who highlighted the rapper’s “harassment” towards his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and her new partner Pete Davidson on his late-night show, The Daily Show.
“What she is going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave. What we’re seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her,” said Trevor.

Kanye allegedly called the comedian a “Koon” on Instagram – a word which has been deemed as “racist” and his Instagram account was subsequently suspended.
According to Channel24, Meta – the company that owns Instagram suspended Kanye’s account for 24 hours “for violating company policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment”.
IOL reports that a Meta spokesperson said that the Hip Hop rapper will not be allowed to post, comment, or send direct messages on the social app.
According to The Blast the “decision was made partially because Trevor Noah is hosting the night’s festivities and there is worry about the two men’s interaction during the show”.
Trevor has responded to Kanye’s performance cancellation on the big music night.
He took to Twitter to air his stance on the matter:
“I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye,” tweeted Trevor.
I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye.

Man has done the most from Obama, to trump to Taylor swift to Kanye
Man is an INSTITUTION of self belief. Fall down 7 times and rise up 10 times…. That is so Kanye !! pic.twitter.com/tmudoOAnzv

No one is cancelling anyone,
anything Kanye is experiencing
is entirely of his own making.
If someone is behaving abhorrently,
and people back away from that,
it is not the people who are to blame.— ? (@TheAlienResists) March 21, 2022
Unfortunately this is an unintended consequence when you go on a white owned media outlet and critique another Black man. They’ll use it as an excuse to discard said Black man because he won’t “abide” by their rules. Next time, think that one through. You were used as a pawn.
