Cape Town – Radio personality Sthembinkosi Junior Bikwa, better known by his stage name “Bujy” says he did not hit TV star Boity Thulo with a champagne bottle when the pair were involved in a bar brawl nearly two years ago.
A shocking audio clip of the physical fight between Boity and Bujy Bukwa has surfaced on social media.
In the audio, Boity and Bujy could be heard berating and insulting each other before sounds of a bottle breaking and screams could be heard from behind.
But Bujy maintained that although they had a physical altercation with Boity, he did not hit her with a champagne bottle.
He also said that he never meant to cause physical harm.
Bikwa appeared on the “Nkululeko n Culture” podcast where he revealed his regret about that day and said he wished for the truth to come out so that he could make peace with Boity.
“I regret that night with everything in me. We exchanged words, and we were physical at some point, but it wasn’t that and I would really like for her to tell her part of the story. I would really like to hear from her to say exactly what happened, maybe when she tells the story it will be a better narrative,” he said.
Bujy has struggled to deal with many narratives around the story, including accusations of GBV.
He said the picture of Boity that circulated on social media where she was covered in blood was not blood.
“You saw a picture and everyone concluded that was blood. That was not blood. It’s red because of what I spilt her with.
“I’m sorry for contributing to the violence in this country. It breaks my heart to know that I will go down in history as the guy who assaults people,” he concluded.
