Cape Town – South African radio personality Thabo “T-Bo Touch” Molefe says he is tired of spending R4 600 per week on petrol.
T-Bo Touch took to Twitter to express his displeasure, saying he wants a KIA Picanto or a Mazda.
“I spend R4 600 a week on Petrol and that’s just 1 car. I can’t do it anymore. I’m looking for a KIA Picanto or mazdanyana,” wrote T-bo touch in a tweet.

His remarks came after the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced on Monday that the price of 93 and 95 ULP and LRP petrol will rise by R2.37 and R2.57 per litre on Wednesday, respectively.
According to SABC, the fuel price increase came as the government’s 75c reduction in the fuel levy – as relief for struggling consumers– was set to expire on August 3, 2022.

“The major increase to the fuel price remains the increase to international petroleum and that is being driven by the conflict in Ukraine which is contributing to supply and demand pressures. As long as this conflict is unresolved, the increases to fuel prices in South Africa and other countries remain likely,” the report quoted Automobile Association (AA) spokesperson Layton Beard as saying.
Tweeps reacted to T-bo Touch’s tweet, with some advising him on which fuel-efficient car to buy and others shocked by the amount of money he spent on fuel.
