Cape Town – Iconic award-winning international actress Queen Latifah’s shout-out video praising Pearl Thusi’s acting skills, has forced the South African actress to reflect on her life and the pain she has been hiding for the last two years.
An emotional Pearl took to Instagram to share with her three million followers just how much the special dedication from Queen has affected her.
“I can’t actually describe how I feel right now,” she said.
“The pain I’ve been through in the last two years is something I’ve hidden so well. Losing my father, heartbreak, the cancellation of Queen Sono and watching people celebrate that while the sting continued to burn from something out of my control….I am so deeply thankful and humbled by everyone and every positive thing that’s happened this week,” said the actress.
Pearl told her followers of her shame of doubting herself and God amidst her trying times.
“I’m ashamed that I’ve doubted myself and therefore God in the recent months. And this week He hasn’t stopped blessing me so abundantly.
“I cannot stop sobbing,” said the celebrated actress.
Many of her celebrity friends, including media personality, Boity Thulo, radio personality Zizo Tshwete, Businesswoman Basetsana Khumalo and artist Nandi Madida amongst many others, took to the comments section to congratulate her.
Queen Latifah took to Instagram and dedicated a special shout-out to Pearl Thusi over her acting prowess on Wu Assassins: Fistful of Vengeance which is streaming on Netflix.
“Pearl Thusi, what’s up? This is Queen Latifah, I just wanted to send out a shoutout to let you know, you are strong, you bad you know. I am watching you, watching you do your thing and keep doing your thing.“Maybe one day we get to do something together, it would be hot,” said Queen.
