Cape Town – South African actress and content creator Linda Mtoba has opened up about the love and support she received from her husband while pursuing her acting career, as well as shielding him from the life of fame which “he didn’t choose”.
In an interview with Nounouche, she spoke about her parents, her childhood, her rise to fame, self-awareness and finding love.
Linda was eager to praise the role that love played in her life.
“I come from a place of love, I am love and that made it easy for me to recognise love,” she said.
“Love has done so much for me, it has fed me, nourished me, comforted me, picked me up. Love has been the reason why, my saving grace, my anchor, my purpose.”

She explained how through her husband’s love, she had been freed.
“My husband is gentle, kind, intentional, selfless and has allowed me to pursue my dreams without any reservations and that’s what love does, it frees you. It expands your heart and mind. My husband is my north star.
“He is very proud of me and everything I have accomplished.
“My husband and I look great together but it is way deeper, beyond looks. I know that no matter what, he will love me and I will love him just as much. We love each other beyond the superficial.”
She said that he was very supportive during the period in which she was pursuing a career in acting. Her desire to become an actress required her to travel between Durban and Johannesburg, which her husband paid for roughly two years.
Linda said that she feels it is her responsibility to shield her husband from the life of fame and everything that comes with it.
“My husband didn’t choose a life of fame and it is my job to shield him from that. I am unapologetically selfish when it comes to my husband and I value the sanctity of our life together and I want to protect that.”
