Cape Town – South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes has issued an apology to media personality Thando Thabethe following a somewhat awkward live interview that he had with her on 947FM last Friday.
During the interview Thando questioned AKA about the death of his fiance Anele “Nellie” Tembe who died earlier this year.
She referred to what happened as an “incident”, and this “triggered” AKA, who lashed out at her, telling her it was none of her business.

The interview quickly rose to the top of Twitter trends, with people debating whether AKA was unreasonable or Thando’s line of questioning was impolite.
Taking to social media, the rapper apologised humbly for snapping, admitting that the question had “triggered” him.

He said that Thando Thabethe had been extremely supportive of him over the year.
“I’ve been seeing a lot of whoo ha on social media about our interview on Friday For the record I just wanna say that @thando_thabethe has always been in my corner from the start, even through everything that has happened this year. It’s unfortunate that I felt triggered by the way she asked her questions and I could have handled it better, after all she’s just doing her job and all that. We have nothing but L?VE for each other and when I’m ready I’ll be back chopping it up with her as always. I also wanna send my LOVE to the @947joburg family ? who have always been there for me. Shit happens… I’m Sorry, “he wrote.
