Cape Town – KykNET’s 13th season contestants Niel Bruwer and Chereze Maree finally tied the knot over the weekend after they got engaged at Lanzerac Wine Estate in July last year.
The Afrikaans match-maker series Boer Soek ’n Vrou posted on its Facebook page on Sunday, an exclusive wedding portrait of the newly-wedded couple.
Niel, who is a fruit farmer from Prince Albert Hamlet in the Western Cape wrote on his Instagram story on Friday, a day before their much-anticipated nuptials, saying:
“There is so much symbolism in every step and every decision we have taken together, the symbolism of our second and biggest circle will be completed tomorrow, a road of hurt to the biggest blessing from our Father’s hand will be rounded off according to Jeremiah 29:11, because He knew and He still knows what he has planned for us. You are my biggest blessing; I honour you my almost wife.”

The couple met while shooting the reality TV programme in September 2020.
According to The Daily Mirror, Niel said he knew Chereze was the one for him when she stood by his side through many life changes, including career changes and moving.
He said during those trying times, “she was always exactly the same person”.
“She handled everything like a pro and she was just always there. That was just one of the signs,” the report quoted home as saying.
The presenter of the show, Marcela Hopkins, congratulated the couple by posting a picture of them on her Facebook page saying:
“Congratulations dear Niel and Chereze! It is such a privilege to have been able to be part of your Boer Soek ’n Vrou love journey. My wish for you is a lifetime’s love, laughter and wonderful adventures.”
The show has kicked off its 14th season, which airs every Thursdays on Kyknet at 20:00.
