Cape Town – Social media has been flooded with calls for embattled TV presenter, Katlego Maboe, to be re-instated back to his former TV shows.
This comes after the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court’s ruling that exonerated Maboe from abuse allegations that were laid against him by his former girlfriend, Monique Muller, in a court application.
A recent statement issued by Maboe’s publicist cited the court’s dismissal of Muller’s court application.
“The court has not made a finding of acts of domestic violence that were allegedly perpetrated against Ms Muller, and as such, the matter has been dismissed,” the statement quoted the court’s judgment.
Maboe was a much-loved host on SABC 3’s popular breakfast show Expresso and as the cheerful face of giant insurance company OUTsurance.

Some, including some media personalities, have called-out Muller’s actions for what they allege was a plot to assassinate Maboe’s career and reputation.
“This was purely malicious,” said seasoned actor Maake Sello Ka Ncube on social media.
“Now what? He gets to pick up the pieces of his life and moves on? Some things are unfortunate and wish him well on the journey ahead,” he said.
Generations: The Legacy actress, Manaka Ranaka, also weighed in on the controversial matter.
“Now can OUTsurance be dealt with together with that woman who was cheated on. If they cheat on you it doesn’t give you the right to destroy someone’s career. You are not the first and won’t be the last. Also stop with false accusations please,” she wrote on the social platform.

#KatlegoMaboe Basically this guy was fired and lost revenue due to allegations and not facts, he must be compensated for the income that he lost as the courts have cleared him!

I am so glad his name was cleared. This whole situation has destroyed him as a person and his brand, reputation he has worked so hard for. This cancel culture without facts and court of public opinion are destroying people’s lives. May we all learn from this
