Cape Town – Seasoned broadcaster, Mark Pilgrim, has taken to social media to update his fans on his health, while receiving his seventh round of chemotherapy treatment.
Mark announced in February that he had been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.
Channel24 reported at the time that he was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer in 1988 which he survived. The report also said that in 2008 he suffered a severe heart attack which caused permanent heart damage.

Mark, however, took to Instagram recently to share some good news.
“Sitting in the oncology chair getting round 7 of the “healing juice” and just received good news… the latest scans show a further significant reduction in the tumors (in size and intensity).

“There’s still a long journey ahead, but step by step, we’re defying the odds,” he captioned a picture of himself sitting on a green lounger with his chemo drip hooked up.
He added: “There’s still a long journey ahead, but step by step, we’re defying the odds.
“My doctors are amazing. My partner Adrienne is a rockstar (and incredibly patient with me).
“Thank you for your thoughts, your prayers, your messages.”
