Cape Town – In honour of his great legacy that continues to stir the hearts of many in the entertainment industry, Rikhado “Ricky Rick” Makhado’s family has vowed to start a foundation named after him.
According to City Press, his stepfather Kumi Naidoo said that the family would be setting up a foundation to help young people, in honour of the late rapper.
“There will be a foundation set up in your name to help young people in Africa. Of all the things, I want to thank you, Rikhado, for giving me the opportunity of calling you ‘Son’ and hearing you call me ‘Paps’,” the publication quoted him as saying.
“In our last conversation you said mom and I need to help you with your core vision, which is to support young people. You were so concerned about young people at risk but you also wanted young people to have the same chances that you had to break into music, arts and culture.” Naidoo said, as quoted by TimesLive.
Ricky Rick was declared dead by his family in a statement last week.
The 34-year-old rapper is survived his mother, his five siblings, his wife, Bianca and their two children.
His memorial service will be held on Friday, March 4, to allow his fans to pay their respects after his private and intimate burial on Tuesday.
