Cape Town – A dress that was worn by former Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green during her umembeso ceremony has reportedly created “a fierce war” between two designers – Bayanda Khathini of Bayanda Khathini designer and Sello Medupe of Scalo Designer.
Tamaryn recently dazzled an African modern traditional dress during her umembeso ceremony with fiancé Zesimdumise Nxumalo, better known as ‘Ze’.
She took to her Instagram to share some of the captured moments from the ceremony, and Mzansi couldn’t get over it.

According to Sunday World, the commotion between Khathini and Medupe started when people started congratulating Khathini for “designing” Tamarny’s dress.
“People were congratulating me for designing and making the dress which Miss Green, wore and I was so confused because I never did such. That was when it was bought to my attention that someone had used my design,” the report quoted Khathini as saying.

Khathini had previously fashioned a similar gown for Durban General actress Nelisiwe Sibiya’s on-screen wedding.

He alleged that Medupe stole this pattern when designing the gown for the former Miss South Africa and he, therefore, wanted him to own up to his actions.
The situation had since escalated to the point where “Khathini and his lawyers have issued out a letter of demand”, the report said.
