Cape Town — Former Miss South African Jo-Ann Strauss has been announced as the new hostess of this year’s Miss Supranational pageant taking place in Poland.
She was welcomed as the host of the Miss Supranational by the president of the organisation, Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski, The Citizen said.
“Miss South Africa, Jo-Ann Strauss, will be hosting the Miss and Mister Supranational 2023 Final Shows. Since winning the Miss South Africa title in 2000, Jo-Ann Strauss has catapulted herself using the platform she was given, to a successful career as model, television host, and entrepreneur while using her most important title, mother, to give advice to other mothers with her ‘Modern Mommy’ blog,” von Lipinski wrote.
Strauss won the Miss South Africa title in 2000 and has since established a distinguished career as a host.
She has interviewed the likes of Charlize Theron, Antonio Banderas and George Clooney. She has also hosted an event for King Charles III and presented the opening of the FIFA World Cup in German for a major German television network.

Strauss took to her own Instagram page and spoke about how excited she was at the opportunity to be the host after her own title win many years ago.
“I am extremely excited to be traveling to Nowy Sacz, Malopolska to be hosting this year’s Miss and Mister Supranational Final Shows. The values of the organization, especially the ‘Aspirational, Inspirational’ tagline align with my own values and I am so excited to be sharing the experience with candidates that will be vying to become the next brand ambassadors for the Miss and Mister Supranational Organization.
“Beyond grateful for all the incredible messages of support and congratulations from all over the world. I’m truly excited to host my first ever events in Poland @misssupranational and @officialmistersupranational. My career in media and events started 23 years ago when I won @official_misssa and I’ve been blessed with the most incredible experiences and opportunities worldwide. I’m supra excited ?,” she said.
