Cape Town — South African actress Boity Thulo has weighed in on the recent viral video circulating on Twitter of a young man selling magwinyas at his school.
The delicious delicacy is fried dough (also known as vetkoek or fat cakes) and is a staple for many South Africans because it is so cheap and easy to make. It is often enjoyed with a filling inside, such as mince, jam or with polony and atchaar, The South African reported.
It is usually sold for R2-R4 on average but this young man decided to sell them at R8 each, causing an uproar on social media.
In the video, the boy is seen carrying the magwinyas in a bucket.
He saw an opportunity to make sales at his Curro school and the video uploader could not believe it.

When the target market is Curro learners then you must understand ? I’m sure where most of them stay there isn’t a magwinya shop nearby so they will pay for the convenience ?
