Cape Town – Kenyan comedian, Arap Uria had one wish while he was in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022: to meet the iconic English football commentator, Peter Drury.
The comedian, with the help of another English football commentator Jim Beglin, got his wish.
He first tweeted a photo on Friday, December 2, expressing his desire to meet Peter Drury.
“Hello Peter Drury, it’s Arap Uria. I am in Qatar and I would like to meet you,” he wrote in a letter to the commentator.

“He’s been so kind to me and flattered me and taught me how to be a better commentator. This is a genuinely funny guy, and we’re enjoying each other’s company.”
Arap said it was one of the best moments of his life.
