Cape Town — Excitement is building as the South African music industry prepares for the 29th edition of the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
Organisers of the event, the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) released a statement where they promised a thrilling event set to take place on Saturday 18 November at the Sunbet Arena in Pretoria.

The new announcement comes after the eThekwini municipality pulled out of hosting the event in Durban after President Cyril Ramaphosa advised the KwaZulu-Natal government not to sponsor and host the Samas due to financial reasons, The Citizen reported.
Last month, the SAMAs announced the nominees for the awards show, with AKA and K.O leading the way with six and five nominations respectively. Meanwhile, the SAMAs also announced the nominees for Record of the Year and Music Video of the Year.
K.O has been nominated in both categories for his hit song Sete, while Costa Titch has also been nominated for Music Video of the Year for his song Big Flexa.
