Cape Town – South African TV host and award-winning media entrepreneur, Olwethu Leshabane has given potentially life-altering advice on body positivity.
The advice came from Leshabane’s mouth but reached followers through the medium of Gugu Intimates’ Instagram page.
“Imagine not posting a pic because my body isn’t where I want it to be right now… yes… I’m actively working on my body to get it to where I want it to be but I’m also living my best life, enjoying every moment – and will share how amazing God is in the said moments through how gloriously I’m glowing in my present body,” Leshabane said.
“If a societal ideal is affecting your mental health, check in with yourself and assess. Don’t use anything or anyone as your measure of when to enjoy life,” she added.

In a world where social media has the power to set standards of beauty, others may feel as though they do not conform to these standards and begin to look at themselves in a way that they perhaps shouldn’t be.
In such a world, it is easy for an individual to fear the prospect of expressing themselves because of what other people may think. However, Olwethu encouraged people not to hide.
“This is your reminder to stop hiding.,” she said.
“Don’t wait for your ideal body to start living. Don’t wait for your ideal anything to start loving and living.”
