Cape Town — South African media personality Dineo Ranaka has expressed her delight at being fired from her position at KayaFM earlier this year, allowing her to move on to fresher pastures.
Dineo was fired from KayaFM earlier this year, following her public struggles with mental health, including admission to a mental wellness clinic.
At the time, she said she understood why people stopped fighting and committed suicide and she admitted that it was difficult for her.
However, she found herself in a better mental space and joined the podcast and chill team, starting her own podcast called Dineo on Sex N Stuff where she and various guests spoke about the ins and outs of sex.
She recently took to Instagram and wrote a lengthhy message of motivation to herself and others, saying everyone should focus their efforts on themselves. She also said how thankful she was that Kaya fired her to allow her to find herself elsewhere.
Why do you care who’s criticising your journey? Why do you care who’s gossiping? Why do you care so much who says what? Focus is more important than intelligence so just FOCUS! Focus on YOUR day to day! Not any one else’s but yours!”

“And who ever said Rome was built in a day? No one. To ALL my entrepreneurial fam, this business journey no balance that’s why it’s one foot in front of the other. It’s hard and your well being will take strain but let me tell you something, if you’re willing to focus, isolate, work hard/smart and reflect… you’ll be healthy. You’ll be ok.”
There’s not a single human who has all their s*** together so just focus on yours mate. Stay trying. THANK GOD Kaya fired me. Actually it wasn’t Kaya that fired me, GOD DID!” she continued
According to TimesLIVE, she thanked her fans and followers for their support to her following the success of her podcast.
“When we are supported, we soar. Behind closed doors, I have such a formidable support structure. Siblings, parents, my kids, my lover, my friends. They give me wings. Spanning the size of the biggest eagle you can ever imagine. Now when I include your support? My God, I feel superhuman.”
