Cape Town – Journalist Derek Watts has given fans an update and let them know that he’s back in hospital after a health scare where he was diagnosed with sepsis but says he’s now feeling better and stronger.
Watts was rushed to hospital about a month ago for a suspected stroke.
Tests, however, revealed that he was diagnosed with sepsis, which had affected his ability to walk.
At the time, Watts shared a picture of himself on Twitter lying in a hospital bed with ECG (Electrocardiogram) patches on his body. He told fans that he had collapsed.

In an interview with News24, he explained how he struggled after the diagnosis.
“I can honestly say I’ve never been so weak in my life after that first attack when I was shaking and just couldn’t get out of a car, you know. It was quite weird to happen in, like, I don’t know, half an hour,” the report quoted Watts as saying.
This time, he was back in hospital for two days only, just for some routine tests.
He said he won’t be in hospital for long and that he was already feeling much healthier. He has been working with his physio to get his strength back to start walking again.
He also revealed the lead-up to his attack and shared that everything went wrong after he went for a routine walk.
“Sunday morning, I went for a bit of a walk, and I got back, and I was shaking a bit and probably was out of sorts, but still wanted to take my son quadbike riding and then while we were out there, I just had no power.”
He was examined by paramedics and rushed to hospital for a stroke but tests and scans revealed no heart issues and sepsis was the diagnosis instead.
At the time Watts announced he was admitted to hospital, he received lots 0f wishes from many well-known names.
Author Zelda la Grange sent him wishes of strength after the latest update on his health.
