Cape Town – South African legendary gospel singer Deborah Fraser’s burial was reportedly postponed on Saturday due to the torrential rain in KwaZulu-Natal.
Fraser died on May 15 after a short illness at the age of 56.
Her family announced the news via a statement published on the singer’s official Facebook page.
Fraser’s funeral service was held on Saturday. However, due to floods that hit KZN, her family couldn’t continue with the burial, IOL reported.
As such it was scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
“I can confirm that we were not able to continue with the burial on Saturday, due to the heavy floods, so therefore, the burial has been postponed to Tuesday, (May 24),” the report quoted the family spokesperson Busi Shibodze as saying.
According to Drum, the burial will be a small private ceremony that will be attended by family and close friends.
