Cape Town – South African singer Makhadzi accumulated enough votes to walk away with an award at the eighth instalment of the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
AFRIMA took place in Dakar, Senegal, from January 12 to 15, 2023. It is where Makhadzi walked away with the award of Best Southern African Female artist of the year.
The award ceremony was graced with the presence of the best artists Africa had to offer, and Makhadzi carried the South African flag well.

Delighted by the achievement, Makhadzi took to Instagram to congratulate herself and thank her supporters for their role in her success.
“Congratulations i made it. Your votes counted and thank you very much for choosing me as your Best Southern African Female artist. I appreciate your support very much and Afrima thank you for recognizing my hard work,” she wrote on Instagram.
