Burna Boy, the 29-year-old Nigerian star has been crowned this year’s winner of the Best International Act at the BET Awards in Los Angeles.
Twitter is abuzz with congratulatory messages for Burna Boy after the Nigerian singer was crowned this year’s winner of the Best International Act at the BET Awards.
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, was competing against a number of artists, that included his colleague Wizkid Diamond Platnumz of Tanzania, Youssoupha and Aya Nakamura, both from France, and the UK’s Headie One and Young T & Bugsey.
“I made it this time to collect my award myself… thank you everyone, thank you to my mum, most beautiful woman on earth…,” Burna Boy said as he picked his award in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Burna Boy, 29, won the BET award for the third time since 2019. This is in addition to his Grammy-award win for World Best Music Album in March this year.

The BET Awards is an American award show established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.
