Cape Town – Social media was abuzz recently after a photo of convicted alleged rapist Sipho “Brickz” Ndlovu posing alongside fellow artist and friend, DJ Cleo, went viral on Twitter, as claims went rife that he had been released from incarceration.
According to News24, the former Kwaito star was found guilty of raping his then 17-years-old niece in 2013 and was subsequently sentenced in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court, Johannesburg, in July 2017.
Drum reports that The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) has refuted the on-going claims and has issued a statement declaring that the embattled artist is still behind bars, serving his 15-year sentence.

“Brickz is still in jail. What is circulating on social media is an old picture to spread fake news. There is only one correctional services act, and how inmates are considered for parole placement is the same irrespective of their public status.
“You need to be eligible and how does one become eligible? They need to serve minimum required time and people know that he hasn’t served minimum required time,” Drum quoted Correctional Service’s spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo as saying.

Brickz raped his own niece , the daughter of his late sister. She was just 16 at that time. He should’ve gotten a life sentence
