Cape Town — Legendary South African DJ Black Coffee has recently given thanks to God for the career he’s had and said he was blessed to have found his calling.
The DJ, whose real name is Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, said his name means “God is with us” took the opportunity to be thankful for his incredible career and the opportunity’s that he’s been afforded so far.
He took to Instagram and uploaded a video of one of his sets at a concert. In the caption, he gave thanks to God.
“My name is Nkosinathi. It means ‘God is with us’ I’m blessed to have been able to find my calling, to share God’s love anywhere anytime.♥️” he said.

Black Coffee has established himself as one of the biggest DJs in the world and has won numerous awards throughout his career.
He won his first prominent award in 2005, winning the Best Dance Album at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs), as well as claiming three awards at the 2010 SAMAs. He has won over 15 awards, with the highlight being his Grammy award he won in 2022 for best dance/electronic album, The South African reported.
Black Coffee is expecting a busy music year ahead as he’s currently on a European tour until September, as well as an exciting show lined up for the iconic Madison Square Garden in October.
